Abstract
A rare ray, Aetomylaeus vespertilio, the ornate eagle ray or reticulate eagle ray was landed at Cochin Fisheries Harbour on 25th January 2011 by a gillnetter operating both drift gillnet and hooks and line (Fig. 1 a and b). The ray was caught by drift gillnet operating at a depth of 200 m.
