Abstract
The Kerala Agricultural University took up the task of organizing the Symposium on Macrobrachium to highlight the need for a greater focus on an important resource which has not received its due share of recognition in this Country. We have a national policy giving high priority for shrimp farming in coastal aquaculture in view of its importance in the domestic and export markets.
