Abstract
Extensive collections were made from various places in the Gulf of Mannar from Tuticorin to Kundugal and in Park Bay from Rameswaram to Muthupet. Besides, field collections were made from shallow waters in the coral reefs of Vala Tivu, Hare Island. Manauli Island. Pulli and Pullivasal Islands. Krusadai and Shingle Islands and their lagoons.
