Abstract
The role of scientific technical and managerial manpower in mariculture and estimated requirements for increased production have been described. A detailed account of existing facilities for education and training of manpower in the Central Marine Fisheries Research Ins!itute is provided. The paper also proprovides an account of a number of short.term training and programmes to meet immediate needs of trained manpower in capture and culture fisheries in the country.
