Abstract
Our knowledge of the fish fauna of the Anamalai and Nelliampathi hill ranges lying immediately south of the Palghat Gap is very scanty. Considerable importance has been attached in recent years to the Palghat Gap as a probable barrier in t he distribution of torrential fishes along the Western Ghats.
