    Abstract

    Research on f i s h reproduction has progressed considerably during the last few years owing t o the development of new and varied techniques. However, i t s application t o acquaculture has largely been confined t o a few selected species for quite a long time. Recognition of acquaculture as a means t o provide easy access t o the desired species has led the awareness 2mong culturists, towards the di verisification in terms of variety of fishes being brought under the culture systems.
