Abstract
The marine fishery of Gujarat is by and large sustained by the operation of three major gears, viz., trawls, gill nets and do1 nets. Demersal finfish resources have played a major role in shaping the fishery of the state ever since the inception of commercial fishery, especially by trawlers about four and a half decades ago.
