Abstract
The distribution of fauna in the inter tidal zone in different stations in the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay in the vicinity of Mandapam Camp has been studied. Distinct zonation has been observed in the occurrence of the fauna and three sub-zones the supra littoral fringe, mid littoral zone and infra littoral fringe were recognized in the inter tidal region
