Arumugam, G (1997) On the oil sardine landings along the Tuticorin coast during 1996. Marine Fisheries Information Service, Technical and Extension Series, 149 . p. 15.
The fishery for the Indian oil sardine Sardinella longiceps is important along the west coast of India. Its occurrence along the east coast is only sporadic and infrequent.
