    Abstract

Priacanthid or Bull’s eye has been identified as one of the major demersal resources suitable for fishery exploitation. Exploratory surveys conducted by Fishery Survey of India have indicated an exploitable stock of 40,000t of this resource in the Indian EEZ. Bull’s eye has excellent export opportunities in south East Asian countries. There is a vast scope for exploitation of this resource and if properly planned and executed, this will not only help to increase marine fish production, but also help in augmenting marine fish export of our country.
