Abstract
Oxxr the years there is a fall in the landings oftJte sea cucumbers all over the Gulf of hAannar and Palk Bay along zvith fall in the size of the specimens collected. The catch per unit of effort has also significantly fallen in the recent years. All these factors point to over exploitation of the sea cucumbers and need for tlteir conservation.
