Proceedings of the Workshop on Fisheries Research and Development in Maharashtra Held at Bombay on 25th And 26th May, 1988

Abstract

Mr. Satyabir Singh Dodd, Director of Fisheries, Maharashtra inaugurated the two days workshop. The objectives of the workshop was (1) to take stock of the available information on the status of the marine fisheries sector in the state, (2) to highlight the local problems which need immediate attention, (3) to explore the possibilities of increasing the marine fish production in the state, (4) to identify priority areas of research which should be tackled by the research institutions and (5) to develop greater co-operation between the state and central government agencies concerned with marine fisheries development.
