Abstract
X-organlsinus gland complex resident in the eyestalk of decapod crustaceans contains the inhibitory hormones for molting and reproduction (MIH, GIH) (Adiyodi and Adiyodi, 1970). Therefore, the eyestalk extirpation results in the removal of the inhibitory factors both for molting and reproduction.
