    Abstract

Mechanisation of the fishery along the Kerala coast has progressed considerably, resulting in an increase of the exploitation of ground fishes and prawns. Detailed study of the prawn fishery by mechanised boats based at Neendakara-Sakthikulangara complex has been attempted, with a view to determine whether there are any indications of overfishing either biological or economic.
