Abstract
During the year 1980 the total marine prawn production was estimated at 1,70,737 tonnes against 1,77,582 t in the previous year (table 1), showing a decrease of 6^45 t (3.85%). A comparative study of the production over the past few years indicates that the trend of slight decrease from the maximum in 1975 is maintained over these years. The decrease this year is mostly brought about by reduced catches in Maharashtra state
