Abstract
On 15th November 1997, a trawler landed a gigantic female hammerhead shark Sphyma zygaena (Linnaeus) locally called as 'Komban shura' at Therkuvadi landing centre. The fish measured 2.75 m in total length and weighed 381 kg.
