Abstract
With regard to the development of fisheries and effective utilisation of the fishery resources, such as provision of facilities for berthing and servicing of fishing vessels, handling of catches, an efficient infrastructure is essential. These facilities are being provided by different agencies in different countries. In most of the countries it is the responsibility of the Government to provide this basic structure.
