Abstract
A new species of Lernaeenicus parasite (Copepoda-Lernaeidae), viz., L. bataviensis obtained from the fish Anchoviella bataviensis is described and figured. The earlier worits on Lernaeenicus parasites from the Indian region are reviewed and a key is provided for the identification of the eleven Indian species.
