    Abstract

    African-Asian Rural Development Organisation's (AARDO) Assistant Secretary General Rami Mahmoud Abdel Halim Qtaishat said on Monday that, there should be International collaboration and collective efforts of Afro-Asian countries to address the challenges in fisheries and aquaculture, The need of the hour is the critical need for balancing the exploitation and utilisation of marine resources for the health of the ocean and the sustainability of the food production system. In the wake of a range of challenges including climate change, the trans boundary nature of marine fisheries and issues of aquaculture demand a joint international effort to ensure sustainable practices across the globe. He said while inaugurating a 10-day international workshop-cum-training programme at the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI).
