Abstract
Organised by the UK’s Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) and the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) in Kochi, the One Health Aquaculture India workshop discussed the use of the One Health framework to integrate key issues in animal, environmental and human health. HABs are a leading cause of aquatic food-borne health risks to farmed fish and the consumers who eat them. According to the speakers at the event, a three-fold increase in HABs was reported between 2000 and 2020.
