Abstract
It is a proud moment for ICAR-CMFRI which has been ranked first among the Fisheries and Animal Science Institutes functioning in ICAR, for the period 2019-2021. The particular period was challenging because of the covid pandemic and hence this achievement is significant for the entire ICAR-CMFRI family. Sustained efforts to popularize sea farming technologies and conservation of marine resources have taken effect. Sea ranching activities for pearl oyster in the Gulf of Mannar and extending biofloc technologies for empowering fish farmer community were successful. The efforts to promote a healthy and sustainable marine fisheries should continue through appropriate technology transfers and training programmes.
