Abstract
ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute has been pivotal in stewarding India’s marine fishery resources since its inception in 1947. Over the past seven and half decades, the CMFRI has significantly grown in size and stature, emerging as a leading tropical marine fisheries research hub in the world. Having completed its 75th anniversary on February 3, 2022, the institute has planned a year-long campaign that includes various activities to mark the platinum jubilee celebrations. The ICAR-CMFRI upheld its relentless pursuit of achieving its scientific goal in 2021 with remarkable zest and vigor. The institute won the best annual report award of ICAR for its ‘Annual Report-2020’. During the period, our scientists were honored with a number of renowned awards, such as the ICAR’s prestigious Norman Borlaug award and the NAAS young scientist award from the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. CMFRI was also bestowed with Rajarshi Tandon award of ICAR for the 11th time.
