Abstract

ICAR-CMFRI has supported the KVK in Lakshadweep islands prioritizing the needs of the islanders since its inception. Cage culture and seaweed culture are the priority areas that has been touched upon since few years. Apart from that the utilization of fish waste and converting to manure and poultry feed is another area of prime focus. In agriculture, the KVK has been focusing on technological interventions related to intercropping in coconut gardens, value addition and processing of coconut and others. The exemplary works and different events organized by KVKs of Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep has been well documented in this KVK times. I strongly believe that documentation of good practices and works done any organization is important and I wish all the KVKs and congratulate for the work done by the KVKs in different thematic areas under ATARI, Zone X
