Abstract
On 19-02-2011, 1.6 tonnes of Pinjalo pinjalo (Family: Lutjanidae), locally called “Periya kizhichan,” was landed by mechanized gillnets at Chennai Fisheries Harbour. Besides,2.2 tonnes of sciaenid, Kathala axillaris was also landed by multiday thangal trawlers.
