Abstract
Four species of silicious sponges Echinochalina glabra (Ridley and Dendy); Higginsia mixta (Hentschel); Geodia lindgreni (Lendenfeld) and Pachamphilla dendyi Hentscliel are recorded here from the Indian region. All these four species are known previously from Australia and adjacent regions.
