Abstract

Seahorses belong to the family Syngnathidae and a total of 55 species have been reported globally (Fishbase, 2015). Nine species of seahorses viz., Hippocampus borboniensis, H. camelopardalis, H. fuscus, H. histrix, H kelloggi, H. kuda, H. mohnikei, H. spinosissimus and H. trimaculatus have been reported from Indian waters.
