Abstract
Studies on marine macro algae of Andhra Pradesh started in 1950's. The research work carried out by different organisations and several researchers on various aspects of seaweeds such as distribution & diversity, resources, systematics, ecology, biology, spore shedding, biochemicals, phycocolloids, pollution, culture and utilization are reviewed in this paper.
