Abstract
Many stock assessment models are available in the literature for assessing fish stocks under the major groups namely macro and micro analytical models. Important stock assessment models suited to tropical fish stocks have been considered and their relative merits indicated in this paper. Methods of estimation of parameters for assessing exploited fish stocks, with suitable examples have been presented.
